I've been on a long quest to find an antenna that would bring in my favorite FM station, 60 miles away. I live in hilly, rural country -- but I'm on top of one of those hills. The simple dipole that came with my receiver didn't receive this station at all. I then tried several amplified antennas that sit table-top. One of them got me very fuzzy reception. I then tried this Terk FM-50, exterior-mounted on the side of my house. It was gave me reception, though with considerable static, even after experimenting with different locations, positions. [Eventually, I tried an omnidirectional Weingard HD-6010 -- mast-mounted (short length of pipe) from the high ceiling inside my garage. Great reception; no static.] This Terk FM-50 might work better for you than it did for me, but based on my experience, I'd recommend a simple omnidirectional mast-mount.

I have to agry with the rest of the crowd. This is the one that realy works. Did not see any difference in reception when installed outside on the window ledge.
It is installed on top of the entertainment cabinet. The location is accross from the window, very deep inside the room. I can hears all local stations clearly with no distortion.

After dealing with poor FM reception in my fairly new home, I finally decided to invest in this antenna. I pre-wired my house with 75 ohm coax for an attic antenna and by simply hooking this up to the that line, my reception is now awesome! I live about 1/2 way between Milwaukee and Chicago... and can now pick up quite a few stations from both markets.
The install was fairly simple as I just used the top middle mounting hole and fastened to a truss in the attic. As if now, the built-in amplifier is not even needed.

MY HOME IS LOCATED IN A SUBURBAN LOCATION. THERE ARE ELEVATION CHANGES BETWEEN HOUSE AND SOME RADIO STATIONS, THIS ANTENNA HELPED TO SOLVE SOME SERIOUS RECEPTION PROBLEMS. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.
I WOULD DEFINATELY RECCOMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Great product. I bought this for my dad's birthday to improve the signal on his tube receiver. The Terk FM Pro was easy to install and improved all of the signal on the receiver. We installed this in the attic, dropped the cable down the wall and hooked the amplifier into the receiver and it just worked.
