Main Features Manufacturer: TERK TechnologiesManufacturer Part Number: TV-44Manufacturer Website Address: www.terk.comProduct Type: Amplifier Antenna
Amazon.com Product Description The limitations of satellite TV have often revolved around local programming, which satellite providers occasionally don't offer (depending on where you live) or charge for on a per-receiver basis. The Terk TV44 amplified TV antenna remedies this impasse by giving dish owners free, constant access to all programming transmitted over the local airwaves, including HD channels and community stations. The antenna installs easily--simply clip it on your existing satellite dish (no tools required) and it's ready to go. Once installed, its high-quality internal amplifier minimizes signal loss, further aiding the antenna's highly tuned and efficient receiving elements. The end result is the best reception possible whether you're enjoying VHF or UHF stations or HD channels. The TV44 is also weather-resistant, meaning it doesn't wear down easily. The antenna is compatible with all mini-dish systems (which generally measure 18 by 20 or 24 inches) with dual LNBs. It also comes with all the necessary cables. What's in the Box TV44 antenna, four 32-inch coaxial cables, eight 12-inch coaxial cables, user's manual.

Works very well, BUT you must know your dish system!!! September 7, 2010 Ezveedub OK, I have had this Terk TV44 OTA antenna for several years and have had no reception issues at all. I use it for digital OTA signal, mainly HD signal. What most people don't know is that this antenna is amplified and uses your receivers for power (uses the voltage sent to the LNBs). You also have to install a diplexer at the receiver to split the signals. But mainly, you need to make sure you know what LNBs and dish you have along with the switch installation. The Terk TV44 will support 4 rooms IF a separate switch is used between the Terk and recievers. It will only support two receivers mainly as is on Legacy LNB dishes (must use all 4 in and out ports, two lines to each LNB) and can be used for three receivers on a triple sat dish with switch built-in on LNB head. If your dish is only a twin sat dish, then you only need a TV42, not this TV44. But like I said, it only does two receivers mainly, not four as is with no other parts.
Terk Tv44 January 21, 2010 Linda A. Crow (Chatham, La.) Terk Tv44 does not work and we wasted our money on it. We tried everything even to call the techs and that did not help. The techs told us to send it back and they would replace it which we did but still no luck. We had to pay for the shipping to get it here and then to send it back so we have been out alot of money for nothing.
Has worked for me for years! October 21, 2009 Chimo (southern MN) I have had this on my Dish system for years. Picks up local HD and regular channels just fine. We are too far from the metro (live in southern MN) and it picks up locals from rochester, austin, mankato great. It is currently on our dual tuner HD DVR and we have had no issues with it. Best part is we can also record locals with the dvr, so at times we are able to record 3 programs at once!
Good Coverage - a bit tight to fit September 13, 2009 David Schaab (Tom Bean, TX) This is my second Terk TV44 - the former zapped in a terrible storm. I live approximately 65 miles from the Dallas area and this antenna provides 36 channels with signal strength measured by my Dish receiver at 85-100%. Works very well but would assume that terrain will be the greatest factor in determining signal pull. A bit of a tight fit on the Dish HD antenna, but discovered that if you completely remove the tightening disks and install with the antenna in place it is an easy job. (Removal of the disks not in the instructions).
Not worth buying. August 25, 2009 Anonymous 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I spent at least 1 hour trying to adjust the antenna to bring in local stations which are only 5 miles away. Could get UHF but was unable to get the VHF stations to come in with enough power to view. Very disappointing antenna. I got better results with rabbit ears.
