Great for new home installation July 19, 2010 912Bungalow I am an avid Sirius listener and wanted something permanent in my house. I purchased a Sirius home tuner and didn't want to mount the antenna in a northwest facing window. I found this antenna and mounted it several years ago (probably 3 or 4) and have had no problems with it. I was renovating my house at the time and had the walls opened up so installation was a breeze. I can imagine if you didn't have this luxury fishing the wire down the walls would be a bit more difficult.
Reception is great, it is small and unnoticeable from the street. My only issue is that the cable is smaller than standard cable and no one that I found made a wall jack so I had to run the cable through an opening in a wall plate. It doesn't look the best but no one knows it's there but me.
Very nice June 14, 2010 W. Henderson Well built, works great and easy to install. It did not take but a couple of minutes to find the best position and angle to mount it. Mounting was so quick I still think I must have missed something and now I don't get fade out with my sporster. Great investment.
Works as advertised June 22, 2009 R. G. SHORT (Cottonwood, AZ) Antenna was mounted on the house facia. I now get a good signal 24/7. This is a must if you are having reception problems with the indoor antenna.
Glad I bought this... April 3, 2009 loadedlemons (USA) Works wonderful. Always have a signal. Did not take long to install. Have used it for 2 1/2 years now in Maine. Much better than the little box antenna that comes with radio.
Problem Solver February 17, 2009 M. Cracco (Waterbury, CT) I thought we could get by with the internal antenna which had a pretty good look at the western horizon through a bay window. Unfortunately all I got was 25% signal with too frequent dropouts. We mounted the SIR6 on the roof and ran the cable inside which on this particular ranch house was quite easy. Signal strength meter is now maxed out most of the time and nary a dropout.
In your planning keep in mind the SIR6 antenna includes a 30' run of cable. Many installations will need a longer length so you may want to purchase the Terk SIREXT50 50' extension cable.
