Did the job! April 23, 2010 Mr. M (USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
After coming to the conclusion that Direct TV are scam artists, I decided to say goodbye to subscription tv. I bought an HD antenna, pulled off and trashed the dtv satellite dish, slide this mount right in and now I get free tv! This mount was easy to use and works great!
As you would expect April 19, 2010 S. Griesheimer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's a pretty simple product, but it certainly seems solid. As someone else stated, I have no idea why they included the bolts that they did for installation because I can't even figure out how someone would use those, but 4 bolts don't cost anything so I really didn't care that I had to grab some at the local hardware store.
Mast is too wide and screws are not sturdy April 19, 2010 maurice (BROOKLYN, NY, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a WInegard HD 1080 that calls for a maximum mast diameter of 2". This is 2" so it makes for a tight fit and may lead to mis alignment of the spacers that hold 2 sides of the antenna together. In fact, my antenna recently stopped working and I suspect that this mis alignment may have something to do with that. Also, i mounted this on a vertical side wall. The instructions isslustrate mounting on a horizntal flat surface. I'm pretty handy but it still took me 15 minutes to figure out the 2 carriage bolts that are needed to make this stand vertically. Then, after it was installed, I needed to bend the antenna down to reach behind it, I swiveled it down and sheared off one of the bolts. I went to the store, bought a few more of 1/4 size and the new ones are heavier, sturdier, thicker, longer and all around a better bolt to use than the thinner ones that came with the mount. Bottom line, it does the job , the mast itself is heavy and sturdy, but the instructions are non existent, and the hardwars for mounting is cheap. Be handy or this is a waste of money for you.
Easy and straightforward February 17, 2010 Matthew S. Olson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The mast itself is rather easy to attach to any wooden roof-eave or wall, just use different screws than what are included. It can be a little tricky to put up perfectly level, especially while perched on a ladder with your hands full of screws, a drill, and brackets.
There is no grounding wire with this mast, so you need to accomplish that with another product or have one with the antenna you're attaching to the mast itself.
Feels very sturdy January 24, 2010 Maria E. Rodriguez 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I still have to find someone to install my antenna - so it's pending how it works
