More channels! July 16, 2010 Jimm (Columbus, OH) More channels are received while using this antennae than not using one at all, in fact it gets channels that are far, far away. I normally use cable so I don't use it much.
Great expectations, puny results. July 11, 2010 Grant Ritchie (Carmichael, CA) I live IN Sacramento County yet this little disappointment can't pick up the local CBS and PBS stations. And yes, the amplifier is connected and working. If you plan to hang this unit on a wall or lay it flat under your TV (as I did), good luck. I got little or nothing in either of those positions, and constantly have to shift it around to pull in the few channels it DOES get. Also, the least little breeze throws this thing into hysterics. I bought a 1650 at the same time I bought this one, and it performs just as poorly. :-(
RCA Multi-Directional ANT-1550 July 6, 2010 Gary For the money, you will find a basic indoor antenna will work just as good. Save yourself some cash. I was hoping that I could pull in more stations with this antenna, but I was wrong. What I read about it and what it does is to different things. It didn't give me anymore station that I was hoping for and it cost me thirty more dollars that the cheap one I purchased about three months ago. I will have to go to an outdoor type antenna. This antenna is good for about 30 miles out and that's it. The single drops off big time. I live high on a hill, about 20 miles from the TV towers in the city, but can't get the TV stations 40 miles away from the other city TV towers. All in all the RCA ANT-1550 looks nice, but the reception distance comes up short.
Better and cheaper than Best Buy offerings April 5, 2010 H. Ronald Hartman (Tinley Park, IL USA) Live over 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago and this antenna on the ground level of townhome pulls in most airwave digital channels. Very easy to install with wife's new digital TV for kitchen, so she can watch Oprah and Dr. Oz while cooking or other activities.
Flat antenna March 12, 2010 M. Greenleaf (Pennsylvania) Was hoping this would make my old TV work better with the new
digital system and converter box. It actually worked better with
the old rabbit ears ( although they took a lot of adjusting)
than with this thing even with the amp. If you want a good
air picture you better get a real antenna.
