No effect on signal August 3, 2010 J. Mohorich (Sacramento, CA USA) I purchased this because I get horrible reception on the basic home antenna, using the onscreen Antenna aiming I never could get over one bar for the satellite reception. My basic antenna is in a south facing window on a 2nd story. I get nothing but drop outs and static every day. So I purchased this outdoor antenna, placed it out on a pole facing a clear south. reception is no different than my stock antenna. Satellite radio has seriously gone down hill ever since Sirius monopolized buying XM out. I never had these issues years ago when I was an XM subscriber. Since Sirius took over prices have gone up, free internet listening for customers taken away, and reception degrading.
So I give this three stars, great idea, well made, easy to install, but just no better than my current antenna, I blame the reception on Sirius and not this product.
Great antenna, uses standard coax April 6, 2010 Ryan Bichon (Columbus, OH USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We have two Sirius radios at work; one in the server room on the first floor, the other in the workout room on the second floor. This antenna allows us to operate both radios with no signal degradation. What I absolutely love about it is that it works with standard RG6 coax cable. I have the first floor radio run off of a 100' coax cable with no signal amplifier and the radio shows full signal. It's great because the coax cables are more durable and easier to run than the standard Sirius extension cables on the market. It didn't come with any coax cables in the box, but who really cares.
Good Sirius Antenna April 6, 2010 I. Lau (Pt Roberts, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a much better antenna with a higher gain and greater robustness than the ones that come free with any Sirius radio.
Easy March 7, 2010 Russ (Indiana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is easy to install. However, don't plan on running it into your current Dish or Cable lines. I tried that and the signal didn't make it through. So, had to run the coax cable directly to the source (the receiver) and then use the converter wire. Maybe some day I'll figure a way to boost the signal so it will go through the current Dish set up, but for now it works great. We are getting full signal, which before we were getting barely any.
Definitely recommend!
Stilleto 2 Home Antenna Kit February 6, 2010 L. Key (North Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Kit comes with everything you need except the coax cable (RG-6). I had cable already run in the attic with wall outlets in 4 different locations. Mounted the antenna at the peak of the eve, drilled a small hole thru to the attic, ran the coax out and hooked it to the antenna, wa-la. Worked like a charm when I plugged it into my radio base.
