Winegard Distribution Amplifier May 8, 2010 K. J. Wachter 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent amplifier. It includes a reverse amplifier in order to work with cable features such as "On Demand". It appears to have an excellent dynamic range. I can't tell if it is low noise because the cable signal coming to the input is relatively strong. Winegard has a good reputation for quality products so I don't think you can go wrong if you need a distribution amplifier to overcome multiple splitters and long cable lengths in your system.
Winegard HDA-200 February 19, 2010 Hank 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It didn't provide any improvement in signal strength as measured by the TV. No new channels were detected and marginal strength channels remained marginal. I suspect the amplifier was defective but didn't care to go through the hassle of trying a replacement.
Excellent Amp January 17, 2010 Yan Li (Sunnyvale, CA United States) Improved my marginal (~70%) signals raising them over 90%. The only problem signal now is VHF, which is more a fault of my UHF antenna than this device. Very happy with the performance. Build quality is excellent. I also appreciate the deployment flexibility, I was worried I would need another another run of coax to the roof. With the provided splitter it's simple to locate the amp near the antenna, or directly in-front of the receiver.
Worth it. December 18, 2009 K. Ehrenberg (Mesa, AZ) I was somewhat skeptical before I bought this amplifier, but I'm happy to report it works better than I hoped. My house is about 28 miles from from the broadcast antenna with no obstructions, but my signal has been weak (or non-existent for some channels) due to long cable runs. My cable box is on the outside of the house with no outlet nearby to power the amplifier, but I was able to get power to the unit by utilizing an unused cable run from a room where we don't watch TV (the house is pre-wired for cable). This method appears to power the amplifier without any problems. The good news is that I went from 25 to 36 channels, with an overall signal strength increase of about 40%. If you're annoyed with weak or missing stations, give this product a try. I'm happy I did.
Winegard is the brand to buy! October 4, 2009 David R. Niebur (Kearney, MO) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a 5000 square foot house with a Garage attic antenna. I live 40 miles from the furthest Kansas City station tower (there are 26 total stations in KC). My antenna is split to 5 different rooms in the house. I could get the nearest stations (28 miles distance to tower)prior to this amplifier but not the distant locations. I attached this just 1 foot from the antenna lead and I now get them all clear as a bell. I would suggest you stick to WInegard because they are recognized as the best. I tried a different brand which was junk.
