The Channel Master 4228HD is not as directioinal as advertised, it is aimed at stations 45 miles away, but still picks up stations 60 miles away about 80 degrees off aim (just about sideways). It doesn't receive much behind it except at close to 180 degrees, which it receives acceptably. Not quite a channel-flipper's dream like my omnidirectional antenna, but I very seldom have to use the rotator. Also, despite being advertised as receiving only channels 7 and up, for me it receives channels 2, 4, and 6 perfectly. This antenna is much better than advertised.

After reading reviews and having purchased another brand of HD antenna that didn't perform well I finally settled on the Winegard 7694P. I was surprised how small it was, especially after putting it on the roof. I replaced a Clearstream 4 that was only fair at receiving channels 14 - 69 and terrible at receiving 2 - 13(VHF). At the time I purchased the Clearstream it was not advertised that it would not pickup VHF, since they did not think any stations would use VHF after the digital switch. But almost all broadcast areas will have at least one station that broadcasts digital on VHF, so keep this in mind when you shop for an antenna.
The Winegard description clearly states that it receives channels 7-69. This was critical in my decision making. It is working perfectly, even on windy days it locks in to all channels. Signal strengths are strong and I probably won't need my rotor anymore. I am picking up stations 50 miles away with ease. This one is definitely the right choice.

TVFool said I needed a blue-rated antenna to get the major network broadcasts from Denver 20 mi. away (we're in a valley with no LoS to the antennas). Radio Shack wanted $140 for a suitable antenna. I took a chance on Winegard HDF7694 from Amazon. Whereas before I got only a few nearby stations I now get 31 channels from up to 75 miles away. Couldn't be more pleased!

This antenna is the largest that would fit into my attic. I installed a Winegard AP-8275 Amplifier to work with it. I did not want to install a rotor so it is pointing at my most distant stations. This combination is doing a great job of receiving high power TV stations at 50 miles away. Low power VHF-H stations in the same direction and at that distance are fine in the daytime but tend to fade at night.
The only problem that I am having is picking up a medium power station about 25 miles away off the side of the antenna. This station tends to fade at night. I could solve the problem by installing a rotor but I have decided against doing that. I may have to install a second lower gain antenna pointing at the station that is coming in on the side of this one and then phasing the two together on one transmission line.
I would recommend this product.

I used a web site to determine how far the local tv antennas were from my home and learned I could receive 8 channels. I put this antenna in my attic and didn't even have to rotate it at all to receive 15 clear tv stations. Very pleased with the product and results.
